Beautiful, fun biergartens, green landscapes and gardens, a majestic European main square, friendly people, a great Olympic Park, a paradise for bikers, and a one-of-a-kind outdoor farmers market convert Munich in a unique destination for your summer vacation.
Located in the southern part of Germany, Munich is a beautiful and youthful city. It’s full of world travelers that don’t need much to discover and enjoy history and nature.
Our recommendation is to rent a bike and enjoy the city’s atmosphere while riding around its gardens. When you go to Marienplatz –Munich’s main square– you’ll find lots of bike tour guides. They gather up around ten people to go on bike rides through some of the city’s most popular attractions. Also found in Marienplatz is New Town Hall, a beautiful and joyful place to see.
There are many outdoor activities in Munich such as visiting the English Garden, seeing the Olympic Stadium, and all the different biergartens (beer gardens). There, you’ll enjoy refreshing beers and delicious German dishes such as German sausages with sauerkraut. Munich’s most famous biergarten is right in the English Garden. We also recommend the Augustiner Keller biergarten, which is the second largest in Munich.
Finally, you can’t miss Munich’s local outdoor market: Viktualienmarkt. It’s a beautiful place where you’ll be surrounded by fountains full of flower arrangements, people having fun, and the most delicious food!
For more of a historical trip, you can visit interesting places like the German Museum, the Dachau Concentration Camp, the Cathedral of Our Blessed Lady, and the Residence Palace of Munich.
Munich is a perfect summer destination, so get ready to travel and enjoy!
